Typical Drive Systems

The normal relationship between machine drive and pointer is that both move in the same direction i.e. if the machine drive is clockwise the pointer rotation is clockwise. In certain instances, for example on panel instrumentation it is necessary to reverse the direction of the pointer rotation relative to the machine drive, this can be done by means of angle drives, in line gearboxes or a “one-way box” (R355) which gives clockwise output regardless of machine drive rotation.
